Mighty Ducks Fan Awaits Compensation

Share

So Ducks’ General Manager Jack Ferreira has settled on Pierre Page as his new hockey coach, assuming compensation issues can be settled. Let’s hope this pair has learned something during the past nine years. This GM/Coach combo ran my beloved Minnesota North Stars (now in Dallas) during the 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons. The result: a 63-77-20 record during the regular season and a 5-12 playoff mark.

The farm system needs to start producing from the team’s lower-round draft picks and the team needs to start spending money on selected free agents. Otherwise, going from Ron Wilson to Page is a regression. Only time will tell if Tony Tavares should have swallowed his ego and left Wilson alone. But there’s always accountability--right, Tony?
