Creative Computer Income Leaps to $128,000

Creative Computer Applications Inc., a Calabasas-based company that sells automated data-handling systems for hospitals and medical laboratories, quadrupled its net income for its third quarter to $128,000, from $32,000 a year ago.

Total revenues for the period that ended May 31 were $1.7 million, up 13% from $1.5 million a year earlier.

Company President Steven M. Besbeck attributed the increase in sales and earnings to new contracts, which included several businesses that use Creative Computer Applications’ primary products.

For the nine-month period that ended May 31, the company reported a 25% jump in its net income, to $355,000 from $283,000 in 1996. At the same time, sales rose 15% to $5.3 million from $4.6 million.
