Swimming Lessons Offered at College

A two-week session of swimming lessons is set to begin July 28 at Golden West College.

Classes range in skill levels from a “Parent and Me” program for children up to 2 years old, to advanced adult classes in 200-yard freestyle, breaststroke and sidestroke. Diving lessons also are available.

The session, the last of four for the summer, continues until Aug. 8 at the college’s heated 50-meter pool. Lessons are Monday through Friday in 30- to 45-minute groups, starting every half hour from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lessons are $30 for the two weeks.

Recreational swimming is also available at the pool until Aug. 10. Adults may swim from 8 to 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. A 10-session pass is available for $13 at the pool or at the school’s Community Services Office.

Open family swimming is Monday through Friday from 1 to 2:20 p.m. for $1 per session, and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. for $1.50, paid at the pool.
