William Vaughan Shaw; Leader in Environmental Design

William Vaughan Shaw, 73, an architect and co-founder with legendary photographer Ansel Adams of the Foundation for Environmental Design. A longtime resident of Pebble Beach, he was a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and the American Academy in Rome, where he won the Prix de Rome in 1967 for environmental design. He and Adams started the Foundation for Environmental Design in 1964 to promote architectural design that blended with the environment.
