Deputy Administrative Officer Named
Lawrence E. Siegel has been appointed Ventura County’s new deputy administrative officer for governmental affairs.
Siegel, a resident of Carpinteria, will bring extensive experience in both the public and private sectors in legislative advocacy and public relations, said Chief Administrative Officer Lin Koester.
Now employed by Sansum Medical Research Foundation, Siegel will start his county job Aug. 18.
He replaces Penny Bohannon, who retired in March. The position pays $78,000 annually.
As the deputy administrative officer for governmental affairs, Siegel will develop a two-year state and federal legislative platform for the county, analyze and advise county officials on state and federal legislation that could impact the county and testify before state legislative committees.
