Let’s see; one of China’s first acts in Hong Kong (July 17) was to suspend labor’s right to bargain with employers on behalf of its employees and to restrict the use of union funds for political activity. Sounds to me like Beijing took a page out of Newt Gingrich’s “contract with America.” And conservatives worry that China is trying to influence American politics? It appears to be the other way around.
