Reno came back from a three-run deficit and eventually beat the Vigilantes, 6-5, in 10 innings in a Western Baseball League game Tuesday night in Reno.

Starting pitcher John Homan got the Vigilantes off to a promising start, allowing only four hits and two runs in seven innings in front of an announced crowd of 787.

Kirt Kishita, who came on in the eighth, gave up two runs and the Vigilantes’ lead was down to 5-4.

Steve Ceterko (1-3) relieved Kishita with one out in the eighth but he couldn’t stop the Chukars, either. He gave up two runs, one in the ninth to tie the score, 5-5, and the winning run in the 10th when David Francisco’s base hit drove in former Huntington Beach High standout Jason Brissey.

The tying run scored on an error on Andy Tarpley’s infield ground ball. Second baseman Bret Barberie dropped the ball, which allowed John Roberts to score from third.

Christian Blackburn pitched the 10th and got the victory.

It was the Vigilantes’ fourth loss in five games. The Vigilantes’ second-half record falls to 3-6.

Corey Parker hit his ninth home run of the season.

Reno’s Brett Jenkins and Paul Ellis each had three hits and a home run. It was Jenkins’ ninth homer of the season, and the 12th for Ellis.

The series continues at 6:35 p.m. tonight at Moana Stadium.
