CSUN Campus Plans MBA Orientation

Share

The Ventura campus of Cal State Northridge is holding an orientation today to explain its master of business administration program.

At the session, prospective students will learn about what is needed to apply to the 2 1/2-year, part-time master’s program, when and how to take the graduate admissions exam, how classes are scheduled and what types of classes will be offered.

While the university’s main campus in Northridge has offered MBAs for decades, the school’s satellite campus in Ventura has offered the degree from its College of Business Administration and Economics only since 1996.

The school is accredited by the Western Assn. of Schools and Colleges, said CSUN spokesman Dan Wakelee. It is also accredited by the American Assn. of Collegiate Schools of Business, which has higher academic requirements, he said.

School officials invite students to learn about the program early to ensure they have all the needed prerequisite courses. Applications are due Nov. 1 and classes begin in late January.

Wakelee also said it is important for students to learn how the Ventura campus operates. The evening program is designed to accommodate working adults, usually in their mid-30s, who want to study part time. About 30 students are accepted each spring. Normally, students take two courses per term, which costs $652 a semester.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at 2151 Allessandro Drive in Room 170. To reserve a seat, call 654-4575.
