Bloomberg News

Cisco Systems Inc. said it will buy a unit of closely held Integrated Network Corp. for $124.5 million in stock and cash, a move that would expand Cisco’s lineup of products that offer high-speed Internet hookups. San Jose-based Cisco, which makes products that link computers in networks, would take a charge of 8 cents to 11 cents a share for the purchase in the quarter ending Oct. 25. The Integrated Network division, called Dagaz Technologies Inc., makes digital subscriber line products that transmit voice and data at high speeds over regular copper phone lines. It is Cisco’s second investment in the technology, which it sees as a way to help its phone-company customers squeeze more capacity from their networks. Bridgewater, N.J.-based Integrated Network makes products that help unclog busy phone networks. Cisco’s shares fell $2.31 to $77.38 on Nasdaq.
