Settling patent infringement lawsuits each company filed against the other, California Amplifier in Camarillo and Pacific Monolithics of Sunnyvale have signed a cross-licensing agreement to use each other’s technology.
The agreement allows each company to use patented technology related to California Amplifier’s MultiCipher product and Pacific Monolithics’ antenna reflector design and downconverters. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The firms sued each other in April, each accusing the other of improperly using patented technology in their products. Both companies manufacture equipment for the reception of microwave signals. MultiCipher is a broad-band scrambling technology used to encode and decode multichannel television signals.
