Kaynar Technologies Inc.: The Orange manufacturer of specialty fasteners, fastening systems and related components said that net income for the second quarter more than doubled to $2.9 million, or 36 cents a share, from $1.3 million, or 19 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales were up 61% to a record $37.3 million from $23.2 million. Net income for the six-month period climbed to $5.1 million, or 68 cents a share, from $2.4 million, or 36 cents a share, for the same period a year ago. Sales increased 58% to $69.5 million from $43.9 million. Kaynar completed its initial public offering in May.
