Blake May Be Headed to Nagano

Share

Rob Blake may have only two goals and six points in 15 games, but he is still considered a likely selection for Canada’s Olympic team.

Blake’s overall play has been strong and his team-high 49 shots are a sign that he has recovered from the injuries that forced him to miss more than 150 games the last three season. It also helps that he played on Canada’s gold-medal team in last summer’s World Championships and was named the top defenseman of the tournament.

“You want to play as well you can so you can give yourself an opportunity to be in there,” Blake said about being named to the Olympic team. “You also don’t want your play right now to result in why you are not on the team. . . . You want to get off to a good start.
