Grant Being Used to Offer Free Child Care
Orange Coast College’s Early Childhood Lab has been awarded a $10,000 grant to provide child-care scholarships to low-income families for the 1997-’98 academic year.
The money was given by the Assistance League of Newport-Mesa.
“With this generous scholarship donation, we’ve already begun to provide free child-care services for seven local families,” said Susan V. McClintic, the lab’s director. “We still have room for several additional needy families.”
To qualify for the program, families must reside in Costa Mesa or Newport Beach. Information: (714) 432-5519.
