Moorpark 35, Santa Paula 20--Moorpark, which has the region’s top defense, allowed only 152 yards---17 in the first half. Santa Paula (3-6, 2-2) scored all of its points against the second-string Moorpark defense in the fourth quarter.

Moorpark’s Chad Willis completed nine of 16 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Art Lopez rushed 17 times for 94 yards and a touchdown and Erric Green caught three passes for 69 yards for Moorpark (8-1, 3-0).

Santa Paula quarterback Willie Zavala completed 11 of 21 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
