Ohlwiler Leads El Toro Past Sea Kings

Darron Ohlwiler rushed for 98 yards and scored one touchdown as El Toro defeated Corona del Mar, 20-3, in a Sea View League game Friday night at Trabuco Hills High.

Early in the first quarter, El Toro’s Larry Johnson scored on a 14-yard run up the middle to give the Chargers a 7-0 lead.

On Corona del Mar’s eighth play of the second quarter, Bubb Rader kicked a 22-yard field goal to put the Sea Kings (2-7, 0-4) on the board.

El Toro’s Sam Moore scored on a 21-yard run, giving the Chargers a 14-3 lead with 10 minutes 23 seconds left to play in the game.

Then, with under a minute to play, Ohlwiler rushed in from three yards to score. The extra point was blocked, but the touchdown sealed the victory for the Chargers (3-5-1, 2-1-1).

El Toro quarterback Mike Strand completed eight of 13 passes for 96 yards.
