The historic preservation group Pasadena Heritage celebrates the American Arts and Crafts movement at its annual “Craftsman Weekend,” Friday through next Sunday. Events will include a Craftsman home tour, an exhibition of California Impressionist paintings, a furnishings sale and lectures.

With his new major-label release, vocalist Mark Murphy is finally gaining some long-overdue recognition for his fresh renditions of bop tunes, offbeat standards and ballads. Murphy, who will be joined by the Alan Broadbent Trio, plays Tuesday through Saturday at the Jazz Bakery in Culver City.
