UCSD Beats UCI in Water Polo

Adam Bollenbach scored the only goal of the fourth quarter and it gave eighth-ranked UC San Diego a 6-5 victory over No. 6 UC Irvine at Heritage Park.

UC Irvine’s Robert Allaire scored on a penalty shot to tie it, 4-4, one second before halftime and put the Anteaters ahead, 5-4, with a goal midway in the third quarter.

But UC San Diego tied it, 5-5, on a goal by Romas Kudirka with 1 minute 58 seconds left in the third quarter. It was his fourth goal of the game. UC San Diego is 11-10 and UC Irvine is 8-11.
