Special Day Boosts Idea of Recycling
Hoping to boost consumer awareness of all aspects of recycling, the cities of Oxnard and Thousand Oaks are teaming up with a chain of hardware stores to host America Recycles Day on Saturday.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Home Depot stores in both cities, will feature environmental displays, drawings for recycled goods and a children’s clinic with crafts made from recycled products. It will also feature composting classes at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Thousand Oaks and at 11 a.m. in Oxnard.
America Recycles Day is meant to place a spotlight on the entire practice of recycling, from collecting and processing to buying recycled goods.
For more information, call Oxnard at 385-7928, or Thousand Oaks at 449-2428.
