The annual Leonid meteor shower may be worth watching this year. The peak comes before dawn on Monday morning, and many people will be watching then with high hopes for a splendid display. In most years this is a sparse shower with few meteors, but every 33 years it may have an incredible--but very short--busrt of activity. That next 33-year peak comes in 1999, but this year conditions are favorable for the United States.
