No. 13 WASHINGTON (7-2, 5-1) at No. 9 UCLA (7-2, 5-1)

* KICKOFF: 12:30 p.m., Channel 7, at Rose Bowl.

* STORYLINE: UCLA is on a seven-game winning streak, its longest since 1993. Win Saturday and next week against USC, and get help from Washington against Washington State, and the Bruins have an extra home game on Jan. 1. Washington also must win out to come back to Pasadena on New Year’s Day.

* UCLA UPDATE: The Bruins had last week off, and what better way to spend it than in preparation for Washington. UCLA has no lingering injuries, has had all the time it wanted to get ready and may even have something of a home-field advantage with a larger-than-usual crowd in the Rose Bowl.

* WASHINGTON UPDATE: The Huskies were stunned a week ago by Oregon, 31-28, in a game in which quarterback Brock Huard did not play because of an injured ankle. He will start Saturday, and Washington has also spent a week repairing some defensive failings.

* EDGE TO WASHINGTON: The Huskies have defensive speed to burn and strength up front, and they showed a year ago that the way to beat UCLA was by hammering the Bruins on the ground.

* THE LINE: UCLA by 2.
