Led by running back Scott Beason, who rushed for 154 yards in 19 carries and two touchdowns, and quarterback Jason Annis, who completed seven passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns, Valencia beat Western, 27-20, in an Orange League game Thursday at Bradford Stadium.

Valencia’s victory forces both teams to await the outcome of the Brea-Magnolia game tonight to see who will represent the Orange League as the third-place team in the playoffs. If Magnolia beats Brea, it will go as the third-place representative. If Magnolia loses, there will be a three-way coin toss among Magnolia, Valencia, and Western.

Western (4-6, 2-3) took a 13-6 halftime lead on scoring runs of 53 and two yards by Trevell Jackson. In the second half, Valencia (3-6-1, 2-3) scored three consecutive touchdowns. In the third quarter, Jason Annis hit Ronald Morris with a 73-yard pass.
