At the grocery store you can get it in mild, medium or hot.

But on the dance floor, salsa--the boogie oogie version--is served up muy caliente. Flings like the recent Los Angeles Salsa Festival are proof that hoofers have the hot stuff.

Held at West Los Angeles College in Culver City, the salsero sounds of Tito Nieves, Tito Puente Jr., Eddie Palmieri, Perla Batalla and others had dancers going for the ultimate burn.

They kicked up their heels, spun, twirled and got down till dawn. And, of course, what would salsa be without a little dip.
