Woman Fired Over Nazi Remark Sues
The woman who was fired in 1995 as historian of the House for her remarks about a junior high school course on the Holocaust is suing the federal government, her attorney said. The lawsuit alleges that Department of Education officials violated the constitutional rights of Christina Jeffrey by divulging confidential information that led to her firing. Jeffrey was fired over a review she wrote that said the course lacked objectivity because it excluded the Nazi viewpoint. Jeffrey, a political science professor at Kennesaw State College in Georgia, has said her statement was taken out of context from a confidential review.
