Gray skies are going to clear up in the San Fernando Valley this week as sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures prevail in the region.

Today and Tuesday, morning low clouds will give way to sunny skies later in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to the low 70s today and the low to mid-70s on Tuesday, forecasters predicted.

An increase in clouds could usher in light showers on Wednesday, and temperatures are expected to dip slightly into the mid- and upper 60s.

“There is a storm system northeast of Hawaii that is moving eastward and that system of tropical moisture could move over the state, but the rain won’t be nearly as heavy as last week,” said John Sherwin, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecast information to The Times.

On Thursday and Friday, partly cloudy skies are in the forecast and temperatures will hover in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Today’s high temperatures are expected to be 70 in Burbank and Chatsworth and 71 in Woodland Hills and Van Nuys.
