Runaways and homeless youths from a shelter near MacArthur Park will perform at a concert tonight in Hollywood, where they will showcase their original tunes written with the help of professional songwriters.

The children, between the ages of 11 and 17, are from the Angels Flight Shelter and they prepared for the show in a workshop organized by the nonprofit organization In Harmony With the Homeless.

“Our Angels Flight youth have developed stronger self-confidence and a renewed sense of hope for their lives,” said Greg Stuart, regional director of Catholic Charities, which runs the shelter.
