Warner Music Spins Off Sire Records

Warner Music Group restructured its Sire Records division this week, turning it into a free-standing company once again. The New York-based label has been operating under Warner’s Elektra Entertainment umbrella since 1995. The Sire Records Group, which now includes Discovery Records, will continue to be run by Sire founder Seymour Stein, a respected industry veteran who discovered such stars as Madonna and Talking Heads.
