Funds OKd to Study Airport Options
The El Toro Reuse Planning Authority approved nearly $200,000 in consulting and engineering fees for the alternative use plan it is preparing for the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.
ETRPA board members late Wednesday night earmarked $54,370 for BV Engineering, $43,225 for SEMA Associates, a consulting firm, and $81,400 for BRW, a planning and design firm.
Last month, the county Board of Supervisors selected the agency to plan a non-aviation project for the retiring Marine base. The ETRPA is an agency made up of representatives from South County cities that oppose building a civilian airport at El Toro.
