Cast Changes at B.H. Manse
Singer-actress COURTNEY LOVE has purchased the Beverly Hills-area home of comedian-actressELLEN DeGENERES for about the same $3-million price that DeGeneres paid for the house earlier this year, sources say.
DeGeneres, 39, had acquired the home before she and actor Anne Heche became companions in April, the same month that DeGeneres’ ABC sitcom “Ellen” became the first prime-time series to feature an openly gay lead character.
The couple recently bought a larger house in another part of Los Angeles for about $2 million, sources say.
Love, a rock star who formed the band Hole in 1989, co-starred with Woody Harrelson in Milos Forman’s biopic “The People vs. Larry Flynt” (1996) and played a waitress in “Feeling Minnesota” (1996).
The 33-year-old Love--who was an admitted drug user after the 1994 suicide of her husband, grunge-rock king Kurt Cobain--helped kick off a series of anti-drug public announcements earlier this month. The national campaign is sponsored by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America and the Musicians’ Assistance Program.
Love, who has had a residence in Seattle, was renting in the L.A. area before she started looking several months ago for a house to buy on the Westside.
The Beverly Hills-area home she purchased has three bedrooms in about 5,000 square feet.
Built in the ‘30s and recently refurbished, it is on three acres, behind gates, with a swimming pool and a long private drive.

“Jeopardy!” host ALEX TREBEK, who owns a number of acres in the Hollywood Hills, has put two parcels in the Curson Heights area on the market, one at just under $60,000 and the other at $325,000.
The larger parcel, which is just under two acres, is on a gated street and has 180-degree views from downtown to the ocean.
Trebek, 57, has hosted the game show since Merv Griffin’s syndicated version of it started in 1984. Art Fleming was host of the NBC daytime show from 1964 to 1975 and then again from 1978 to 1979.
Trebek once planned to build a home on the Hollywood Hills land, which he bought in 1990, the same year he was married, but he and his wife, Jean, moved instead from a Mulholland Drive bachelor pad, which he designed and built, to a family-style home they bought in the San Fernando Valley.

A 25-room San Marino mansion, designed and built in 1910 for the parents of GEN. GEORGE S. PATTON JR., has been sold for its last asking price of $3.25 million.
The eight-bedroom house, on 1.5 acres, had been on the market since late 1995, originally at $3.75 million.
The buyer, a local antique dealer, loves the woodwork and nearly everything about the house, including its 16-car garage (built by the sellers, a physician and his wife), said Irene Agajanian, who had the listing since 1995.
“The buyer doesn’t plan to change anything except to update the kitchen,” she added.
Known as Lake Vineyard, the house was built on the 400-acre ranch where the general, who died in 1945, was born in 1885. The general already had graduated from West Point when the four-story 12,000-square-foot house was built, but he always considered the house his home.
The general’s father, a former district attorney of L.A. County, became the first mayor of San Marino while living there, and a neighbor, Henry E. Huntington, whose home is now the Huntington Library and Art Gallery, played poker with the elder Patton in the basement.
The estate, which also has a tennis court and pool, was owned by the Patton family until the 1970s, according to Agajanian, who is with Coldwell Banker in San Marino.

The Malibu home where MADONNA and actor SEAN PENN married in 1985 has been listed at $10.9 million. At the time of the wedding, the house was owned by a Penn family friend, who later sold it, sources say.
Built in 1980, the eight-bedroom house on a Point Dume bluff has 20-foot-tall walls of glass, two guest houses, a pool, tennis court and about 260 feet of ocean frontage.
The property can be purchased as a two-acre home or split, as the house with the pool, tennis court and guest house on one acre at $7.95 million and a one-acre lot next door for $3.5 million.
The owners, a businessman and his wife, are selling the home because they have four other houses in the L.A. area and “are just not using this one,” a source said.
Paul and Sara Grisanti of Coldwell Banker/Jon Douglas Co., Malibu, share the listing with Steve Levine and Jeff Hyland, both of Hilton & Hyland, Beverly Hills.
A partly-built 30,000-square-foot house in Bel-Air has come on the market at $7.9 million, including permits and plans. Completion is estimated to require $8 million more.
The French Chateau-style house, on an acre with 400 feet abutting the Bel-Air Country Club, was being built for a member of a Middle-Eastern royal family before construction stopped about four months ago, sources say.
