VENTURA--The season will really begin to bustle Friday with Holiday ArtWalk, 5-9 p.m. First stop on the self-guided tour is City Hall, Poli and California streets, to pick up a map of the 57 galleries, businesses and coffeehouses with art displays. Also at City Hall: free refreshments, tree trimming, Santa, Scottish dancers and bagpipes and more. At Santa Clara and California streets, there will be a second tree, ornament-making and live music. On Saturday, the Harbor Parade of Lights will begin at 7 p.m. at Harbor Boulevard and Spinnaker Drive. The Holiday Street Fair, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, centered at Main and California streets, will feature 500 arts and crafts vendors and live entertainment. Free admission to all events. COLFAX--The annual Tiny Tim Faire will bring Dickens’ characters to life on Friday at 5 p.m. as carolers in costume stroll Main Street before the tree lighting at the gazebo, Church and Main streets. On Saturday, 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m., there will be arts, crafts and food booths at the Community Center on School Street. Free admission.(530) 637-5820.

INDIO--Visitors ate about 60,000 tamales at last year’s International Tamale Festival. This year, 65 vendors will serve the Mexican specialty at the festival Saturday and next Sunday at Indio Boulevard and Oasis Street. FILLMORE--Santa will ride in a horse-drawn carriage in a parade Saturday during the Old-Fashioned Christmas, noon-5 p.m. The procession is at 1 p.m. At Central Park, there will be 10 tons of artificial snow, caroling, a petting zoo, and a bazaar with crafts and Christmas fare--such as caramel apples, popcorn and gingerbread--for sale.
