Intel Corp. said Tuesday it has agreed to buy Irvine-based Corollary Inc., a closely held computer components maker.

Intel didn’t say how much it will pay for Corollary, which makes components for high-powered Intel-based servers. Corollary will retain its name, and George White will continue as president.

Santa Clara-based Intel also said it has acquired a 5% stake in Canada’s MGI Software Corp., a maker of imaging software.
