Ducky Derby Benefits Children’s Bureau
Plans are afloat for the fourth annual Mighty Rubber Ducky Derby, on Sunday at Wild Rivers Waterpark, 8770 Irvine Center Drive.
The 11 a.m.-to-4 p.m. event is expected to draw about 7,500 participants. More than 20,000 yellow, sunglass-wearing rubber ducks will race down the water park’s Lazy River.
Participants can “adopt” ducks that race in the derby.
The park will waive the usual $21 admission for those making a donation of $10 or more.
Parking is $5 per car.
Event planners hope to raise about $115,000 for the Children’s Bureau Foundation of Southern California, which provides professional treatment and prevention services to more than 5,000 abused and neglected children and their families throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.
