In a move that is designed to bolster consumer awareness and revive stalled sales, NordicTrack Inc. has signed its first marketing deal with an outside retailer. The Chaska, Minn.-based company, which had previously restricted sales of its fitness equipment to company-owned stores and seasonal kiosks, is now marketing its wares through Sears, Roebuck & Co. NordicTrack said the move should boost sales, which fell by 27% this year to $368.2 million. Marketing surveys showed the company was missing about 80% of the potential health-fitness market by selling only through its company-owned locations.
