Long Beach police arrested three men suspected of a string of motel robberies here, less than an hour after the most recent one Thursday night.

About 10 p.m., three men robbed the Buena Park Motor Inn, 7921 Orangethorpe Ave. It was the fifth motel robbery in three weeks in the city, Buena Park Police Lt. Mac McNeilly said.

About an hour later, Long Beach police stopped a car for running a red light and found three guns, McNeilly said. The officers checked on recent robberies and found the driver and his two passengers matched the description of the Motor Inn robbers, McNeilly said.

Glenn Johnson, 20, of Lynwood, Johmel Johnson, 18, of Los Angeles, and Adrian Clark, 18, of Inglewood were booked on suspicion of armed robbery in the Motor Inn case and are suspected in the other four motel robberies, McNeilly said. The Johnsons are not related, he said.

The men are being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail each.
