Defenseman Bobby Dollas joined goaltender Guy Hebert and winger Joe Sacco as the only Ducks to appear on each of the team’s five opening-night rosters.

Dollas believes this season’s lineup is the best yet.

“When Paul [Kariya] comes back, I think this is going to be the best team we’ve put on the ice,” Dollas said. “We signed Tomas Sandstrom [as a free agent]. We stole Scott Young [in a trade for a third-round draft pick from Colorado] and we picked up Brent Severyn [from Colorado in the waiver draft] for nothing.”

Vancouver right wing Mike Sillinger, a former Duck, needed 25 stitches to close a gash above his right knee after he collided with goalie Arturs Irbe in practice. He did not play Friday and is not expected to play tonight....Pavel Bure switched numbers--back to No.10 from the No.96 he wore the past two season. Why? He said it has to do with finger, knee, kidney and neck injuries he suffered and the meager 29 goals he scored why wearing the higher number. He wore No. 10 for his first four seasons in the league.
