Mission College is accepting registration for classes ranging from conversational Chinese to aerobic kick boxing as part of its fall Community Extension Program, officials said.

More than 170 classes and workshops are scheduled this fall, with the first classes scheduled to begin Oct. 14 and continuing until Dec. 14, school officials said.

“Aerobic kick boxing is one of our new classes and it’s been very popular. We’ve got a lot of people signed up for that already,” said Diane Astadurian, Mission’s Community Extension manager.

In addition to the more unusual offerings, classes and workshops are available on such topics as computers, electronics, video production, handcrafted art and investing in stocks and bonds. There will even be a workshop on installing a modem.

“Participants will learn the difference between an internal and external modem, the benefit of one over the other and software for both modem and fax,” Astadurian said.

Registration is also being accepted for a wide range of classes in Mission’s College for Kids and Teens program, officials said.

Prices range from $29 to almost $1,000 for some video production classes. The vast majority of classes are $69 or less, officials said.
