Latino Film Festival to Open Wednesday

The first Los Angeles International Latino Film Festival will open Wednesday with the U.S. premiere of Mexican director Carlos Marcovich’s “Quien Diablos es Juliette?” at 7 p.m. on two screens at the Universal City Cinemas, Universal CityWalk.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. at the cinema’s mezzanine.

The festival, which will include dozens of Los Angeles premieres, will continue through Sunday at the Universal City Cinemas atop the hill of Universal City and at the Hitchcock Theatre Complex, 100 Universal City Plaza.

Most screenings will be followed by discussions with the filmmakers. Films of noted Mexican cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa will be shown Saturday.
