PACOIMA — Two children were critically injured and three adults seriously hurt Monday evening when their car collided with a van, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 6:20 p.m. in the 12700 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells. No details were available about the cause of the crash. The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating.
The van’s three occupants were unhurt, Wells said.
A 3-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl were among the injured, Wells said. They, along with a man in fair condition, were airlifted to UCLA Medical Center in Westwood.
Two women believed to be in their mid-30s were also seriously injured, Wells said. One woman was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center and the other went to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.
