Sunnyvale-based Advanced Micro Devices Inc., unable to produce as many of its new K6 microprocessors as it planned, reported a third-quarter loss of $31.7 million. The loss for the three months ended Sept. 28 amounted to 22 cents a share. It compared with a loss of $38.4 million, or 28 cents a share, a year ago. . . .
