Interests of Poor
The kind of representation we have in Congress is responsible for “Most in U.S. Got Richer, Poor Got Poorer” (Sept. 30).
Being dependent on large contributions from wealthy interests, most of our representatives are afraid to defy the wishes of their benefactors. The poor will continue to get shafted until we get effective campaign finance reform. Then, when we start electing representation that is less dependent on major contributions for reelection, the interests of the less affluent will be given greater consideration.
