Trendoids take notice: Here are some of the latest must-haves spotted at last month’s Action Sports Retailer Trade Expo in San Diego. Top left is the Lowrider Wallet from Seattle-based PigPen Designs. The velvety chain wallet with religious iconography goes for $7.50. Above is PigPen’s blinking plastic belt, hot among ravers. The battery-operated accessory goes for $8.50. Both at Booth 7, 7576 Melrose Ave., Red Balls at 7365 Melrose and Hot Topic mall shops. Top right is Santa Cruz-based Hang Ware’s Hang Ware Watch--a wrist-free ticker that dangles upside-down for easy time telling. It clips to a belt loop, backpack, golf bag or ski pants. Price range is $50 to $60; available at Fred Segal, 8118 Melrose Ave.; Mythos Accessories, 189 S. Beverly Drive and select Nordstrom stores.

With Halloween just around that dark, creepy corner, here are a few friendly masks from the MOCA Stores to get you in the party mood. Above, you can be all ears as a rabbit or elephant (the top-seller) in these “Moving Masks” available for $20. The line also includes a crocodile, bird, frog, lion, shark and wolf. Made of lightweight foam, the size is adjusted by straps for children and grown-ups. Each has a string or tab to pull to move the mouth or trunk.

You can monkey around in this headgear. The masks are made in Brazil by Eco-Brazil; a percentage of the proceeds go to wildlife organizations. The MOCA Stores are located at 250 S. Grand Ave., (213) 621-1710, and at 2447 Main St. in Santa Monica, (310) 396-9833.
