Man Shoots Wife, Confesses, Police Say
A man fatally shot his estranged wife late Friday night and then drove more than 50 miles to a San Marino police station to turn himself in, police said Saturday.
The body of Jeanine Chalabianbaliozian, 36, was discovered inside of a car about 10:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Arby’s restaurant on Edinger Avenue near Beach Boulevard.
About 30 minutes later, Hratch Chalabianbaliozian, 51, told police in San Marino where they could find his wife, whom he confessed shooting, Huntington Beach Police Lt. John Arnold said.
The lieutenant said Huntington Beach officers were already investigating the scene when they were informed of the husband’s role.
“When officers arrived, they found the victim had been shot several times,” Arnold said.
