Olympian to Help UCLA Recruit Native Americans

Billy Mills, the Native American runner who won the 10,000 meter race in the 1964 Olympics, has joined forces with UCLA to help increase its enrollment of Native American students.

Ira Englander, an attorney for the Navajo nation and a volunteer with the Indian Studies program, said that only about 40 Native American students are enrolled at UCLA, while more than 200,000 Native Americans live in California.
