Steri-Oss Names Dymek President

* Martin J. Dymek has been named president of Steri-Oss, a Yorba Linda manufacturer of dental implants. He succeeds Ken Darienzo, who was appointed chairman and chief executive. Dymek had been senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Since joining Steri-Oss in 1990, he has also held the position of international sales manager. In addition, Bruce D. Nye has been named vice president and chief financial officer. Before joining the company, Nye was senior vice president of corporate development at Cerplex in Tustin, chief financial officer at Cerplex, vice president and chief financial officer for Sparta Inc., and held various financial positions with Price Waterhouse.

* Robert W. Wisely has been named executive vice president of marketing for CKE Restaurants Inc. in Anaheim. He had been senior vice president. In addition to leading the marketing efforts for Carl’s Jr., Wisely will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of Hardee’s marketing department. Wisely joined CKE in 1974 as the company’s first director of marketing and was named senior vice president of marketing in 1985.

* Mary Bartlett has joined Kiss Software Corp. in Newport Beach as director of product management. She was previously vice president of operations for TouchStone Software Corp. in Huntington Beach. Michael Schmel joined the company as national sales director. He had been national account manager at TouchStone Software.

* Ashley Powell has joined Snyder Langston, an Irvine real estate development and construction services company. He will oversee merchant development, build-to-suit development and design-build projects for the firm. Powell was formerly vice president at Transpacific Development Co.

* Elaine Wilson is the new regional marketing consultant for the Orange County area for Glendale Federal Bank. She joined the bank from Western Bank, a division of Washington Mutual, where she was an assistant vice president, marketing director.

* Dan Bergen has been named general manager, ITT Cannon Connectors North America in Santa Ana. Bergen joined ITT Cannon in 1988 and was most recently director of marketing and sales.

* Frank de Lucia has been appointed national franchising director for Sir Speedy Inc. in Mission Viejo. De Lucia has previously been director of operations and development for the Western region of Motophoto Inc., and before that was manager of international operations and development for Baskin-Robbins International Co.

* Gerry Encarnacion has joined Musser Architects in Costa Mesa as a project manager. He was previously associated with architect Joseph Columbo in Santa Ana, Lal Sahgal & associates in Lake Forest and Architectural Creations in Santa Ana.

* Charles Drummond has been named managing director of capital markets for Waldron & Co. Inc. in Irvine. He joined the company from Nutmeg Securities Ltd. in Westport, Conn., where he was director of research, technology and Internet analyst. Drummond was also vice president for eight years with Dunn & Bradstreet Inc.

* William Ryan has formed the William Ryan Co. in Irvine, a financial advisory firm. Ryan had been a registered representative with Transamerica Financial Resources.

* Mark W. Nelson has been named chief financial officer and vice president of finance for Smith Micro Software Inc. in Aliso Viejo. He succeeds Robert E. Grice Jr., who is now vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Simulation Sciences Inc. in Brea. Nelson had been chief financial officer for Airdrome Parts Co. in Long Beach.

* Gordon L. Adams has been appointed director of risk management for MBK Real Estate Ltd. in Irvine. His responsibilities will include the management of all corporate and subsidiary insurance matters. Adams was formerly with Pacific Enterprises, a natural gas utility holding company in Los Angeles, where he was in charge of coordinating and evaluating claims and risk exposure.

* Sal Alini has been named vice president of engineering for Sync Research in Irvine. He will oversee engineering activities at the company’s Irvine and Norton, Mass., facilities, where wide-area network management, access and digital transmission hardware and software are made. Alini had been vice president and general manager of Amdahl Corp.’s Enterprise Server division. Before that, he was vice president of the Online Transaction Processing division of Tandem Computers Inc.

* James C. Mueller has been named chief operating officer of C.P. Koll Investment Co. Ltd., a joint venture between Newport Beach-based Koll Real Estate Group and Charoen Pokphand Group, a Thai conglomerate. Mueller will be based in Shanghai and will manage C.P. Koll’s various operations throughout the Pacific Rim. He previously served as senior vice president and partner of the Koll’s Northwest division in Seattle.

* John Groom has joined American Custom Components, an Anaheim provider of electronic connectors to disk-drive manufacturers, as a consultant. He was formerly senior director of engineering at Seagate Technology International. Groom was also senior vice president and chief technical officer at CMC Industries.

* William F. Gibson has been appointed chief financial officer for XCD Inc., a Tustin supplier of network print servers. For the past nine years he was vice president and corporate controller for AmeriQuest Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Computer 2000 AG.

* Michael Disch has been named vice president of national accounts/health care for Rockford Industries Inc. in Santa Ana. Disch was formerly managing director of the vendor finance services group at DVI Inc.
