QLogic Corp.: The Costa Mesa designer and supplier of semiconductor products said net income for the second fiscal quarter ended Sept. 28 increased to $3 million, or 39 cents a share, from $1.2 million, or 20 cents a share, for the like period last year. Revenue rose 17% to a record $19.6 million from $16.7 million. For the first half of fiscal 1998, net income grew to $5.3 million, or 75 cents a share, from $2.1 million, or 36 cents a share, reported a year ago. Revenue was up 16% to $37.8 million from $32.5 million.
