Democratic Assemblyman Jack Scott and state Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Glendale) announced Monday that fines collected from oil companies by the state will be used to pay for new heating and air-conditioning systems at Pasadena’s Jackie Robinson Center and the city’s Hastings Ranch library branch.

The Robinson center will get $180,000 while the library will receive $250,000 as part of the recently enacted Senate Bill 368 that funds energy-efficient projects, Schiff said.

“The improvements will begin within the next three months,” Schiff said. He said a combined effort by the Democratic trio of Assemblyman Scott Wyden (D-Glendale), Scott and himself secured funding for several projects from Glendale to Temple City.
