Union Dues

I was amazed to read that a majority of people were opposed to a proposal that would prevent union management from using union dues for political purposes unless the union members approved (The Times Poll, Oct. 15). Then I read your question.

I too would oppose your question the way you wrote it. You worded the issue as though a vote “for” would require that a portion of dues be used for political purposes. Your question was too ambiguous. No wonder you got the answer you did.
