Parents May Weigh In on Textbook Selection
Parents in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District will have a chance Thursday to help decide which materials their children will use in the classroom.
Reading and language-arts textbooks and other materials under consideration will be available for review at 6:30 p.m.
The books are being tested in classrooms districtwide and teachers will present overviews of the materials.
“By using the books, the teacher can determine which is best for the student’s learning,” district spokeswoman Karen Bass said.
Teachers and district representatives will consider parents’ input before deciding which materials to adopt.
The meeting will be at the Educational Services Center in Yorba Linda.
