Actors Deliver Anti-Gang Message

Share

Drama students from Los Angeles Harbor College and England’s Barnsley College carried a subtle anti-gang message Tuesday to the children at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

In a 35-minute musical production called “Trolling,” the actors dressed as animals wearing blue and trolls wearing red to emphasize that people can all get along even if they are from different races or backgrounds.

After giving two performances at the medical center’s auditorium in Torrance, the actors went to the children’s ward to sing to patients too sick to get out of bed.

The event was set up by Terrill Larragoitiy, a pediatric intensive care nurse who said this was the first time a dramatic presentation had been made to patients.

“The actors really enjoyed it,” Larragoitiy said. “They asked if they could come back next year.”
