Ben Welden, 96, who appeared in some 50 films between 1935 and 1956, primarily in character roles. His credits include “The Last Gangster,” “Hollywood Cavalcade,” “The Star Maker,” “The Big Sleep,” “A Star Is Born,” “Sorrowful Jones” and more.
