TUB THUMPERS

Chumbawamba, the self-proclaimed anarchists, are a bunch of hypocrites (“Po(p)litical,” by Jerry Crowe, Oct. 19). If they really want their fans to steal the record from local retailers, then they have contempt for every person that worked to bring that record to the public and they never should have signed a distribution deal or even a recording contract.

After all, there are plenty of truly independent artists who bring their music to the people on their own terms . . . but then, those artists have integrity. Does this band even know what the word “anarchy” means?
